![]() ![]() She moved abroad, but we continued to talk every day. She used to record some covers and did some Bugg ones. We went to a festival with some friends, we saw Jake Bugg and we both turned into great fans afterwards. He had such a bright future in front of him. The song is so sad (despite having a positive message) and being about rescue in some sort, it kinda reminds me how me and all my group of friends blamed ourselves for letting one of us do such a thing without noticing he needed help. Good lord I'm hick as shit when it comes to music.ĭiscovered the song a few days before one of my friends commited suicide. The bottle let me down/Today I started loving you again-Merle Haggard Sympathy for the devil/Gimme Shelter-The Rolling Stones Hello Darlin'/Play Guitar Play-Conway Twitty Old dogs, children, and watermelon wine-Tom T Hall Lost Highway/You win again/Lovesick Blues/Half as Much/I'm so lonesome I could cry-Hank Williams The sound of silence-Simon and Garfunkel Girl from the north country-Bob Dylan/Johnny Cash I didn't come here to slag off your suggestion(!), clearly I'm in the minority here (TBAH has 21.2m listens on Spotify as I type this) but I was just wondering what it is that makes this track so special to so many.ĮDIT: So I just checked the CO wiki page and apparently TBAH has been used in a shit load of adverts and TV shows. Tracks like All That You Give, Burn Out, Channel 1 Suite, and their remix of DJ Krust's Re-Arrange send way more chills down my spine than To Build A Home ever has. I suppose it's a pretty track, but its lack of substance under the veneer just puts me off. The vocals just feel flat and uninspired. I kind of feel like TBAH is a dirge but with none of the sorrow or power behind it. After listening to their music since early 2000 To Build A Home, and Ma Fleur for that matter, just seem boring to me. ![]() Maybe I'm missing something here but I've never really understood the hype around this track, especially when there are so many more powerful tracks in their back catalogue.
